Under the History tab on this website you will now find an Oral Histories page. There you will find a collection of oral history interviews that were conducted by Historic Commission members between 1994 and 2011, with a variety of long-time borough residents. Mounted in the lobby of borough hall, this is a copy of the original 1674 deed transferring ownership of lands occupied by the Tinton Manor Iron Works from local Native Americans to the European settlers.  The original is in the Princeton University Library, and this copy was donated to the borough by former resident, and Native American descendant, Claire Garland.  Pictured (L to R) are Mayor Clay, Historic Commission Chairman Stacey Slowinski, Claire Garland, Council Presi

The Historic Preservation Commission will be working with the Friends of the Crawford House to plan and present programs that will celebrate local history during this 250 th  anniversary year. We will post details here, and on our social media. This year is a great time to learn more about local history!
